in the festive occasion of chinese new year, lemme tell you about this fantastic little place in ‘china cluster’ of international city, dubai – close to the dragon mart.
first, there are so many chinese restaurants here but i’m not sure if all are halal. however, this one is owned by a chinese muslim, so it definitely is, insyaAllah.
i love this restaurant because it’s like those typical canteen-like chinese restaurant you see in hong kong series, but you know i might never get to eat in one of those – definitely serve pork or frog legs! however, here i get the chance to eat in the same ambiance, and know for sure that it’s halal.
we’ve been to this restaurant countless times. to read our first review of the place, click here for my posting.

we have our favorite dishes that we always order when we come over, but that day, we tried something different. their noodle in soy sauce.
apart from looking like rojak, it doesn’t look appealing to me. such a simple dish. homemade noodle, soy sauce in fried tauhu, and strips of cut-up cucumber. that’s it.
and then mr. khairul mixed it up. voila! steam coming out of the bowl was enough to tantalize. this could be delicious!
verdict : simple dish – yes! but delicious – triple quadruple yes! soft chewy noodle in salty sweet soy sauce – yummy! the crunchiness of the cucumber strips adds to the delight of this humble dish.
a must-try!

what other dishes that we ordered?
this is our top recommendation. how good is it? tauhu cooked in chilli paste with capsicum in between. eat this with hot steaming rice, hmmm. sedap tak? well, let’s just say that i DON’T like tauhu, but i absolutely LOVE this tauhu dish. i rest my case!
fried cut-up chicken in special flour. incredible! salty, crunchy, juicy – rolled into one chicken bit!
black pepper beef with capsicum. the beef so tender, the black pepper adds spice, and the capsicum just complements the whole dish – tasty!
