Do You Tumblr?

its tagline is, “the easiest way to blog”.

like i told my husband (who is too lazy to write long-winded sentences like i do!), tumblr is perfect for him :

• he has tons of travel pictures.
• he wants to write only a few sentences to describe a picture.
• sometimes, all he has are just thoughts inspired by that picture, or what it reminds him of.
• he definitely prefers microblogging!

i have a tumblr account, and soon i’ll create one for him, just about what he sees on his travels. i’ve had this account since 2-3 years ago but recently i decided to tumblr actively after seeing the gorgeous pictures on my sister’s tumblr, favoritewaffle. they’re really good!

my tumblr is titled, “For My Sons”, created just for my 3 boys; khaleef, kahfi and kazim. it has my kata-kata hikmah for them, it has little stories of me, mr. khairul and the boys; and it has food pictures – with more coming up!

 

essentially tumblr IS the same as blogging, but it’s condensed. you can follow each others’ tumblr (just like in blogs) and you can share ANYTHING (just like in blog) from quotes, to pictures and videos.

however, the one unique thing about tumblr is the ‘reblog’ button.

when you visit an interesting tumblr, and you see a picture you like, or some tips or short story – you can immediately press ‘reblog’, and that picture will automatically appear in YOUR OWN tumblr, with full credit and back link to the original owner.

and of course it works both ways. some random stranger visits YOUR tumblr. if they like your picture, they can freely press ‘reblog’ and you can proudly see YOUR picture on someone else’s tumblr, with full credit to you. and you will be notified in your dashboard.

best kan! it’s a nice feeling when you know that someone out there like what you put up, and sudi nak letakkan kat tumblr dia. hihi.

Drawing on Facebook

i have a lot of hobbies. i love to read, i love to write, i love to sing, i love to collect – and i love to draw. found this old facebook application.

it's really cool because after you finished 'drawing' the graffiti, you can actually 'replay' the drawing, and you can see the 'brush' move on its own. memang best! just press play, and you can adjust the 'speed' of the 'brush'.

Kalau Binatang Ada Facebook

macamana agaknya kalau binatang ada facebook? begini lah agaknya komen-komen binatang tersebut kat STATUS yg mcm korang selalu post tu!

(tak pasti siapa penulis sebenar yang klaka ni, tapi terima kasih kepada mr. khairul yang mengforward. gelak gile-gile kitorang - yang paling lawak ayam yang nak digoreng tu..)

nyamuk : baru habis ronda rumah ajoi. kenyang burp, Alhamdulillah.

cicak : isteriku tersepit pintu!

kucing betina : "anak i yang ke-5 baru tanya siapa bapaknya. i bingung nak jawab apa. i sendiri lupa bapaknya siapa."

ayam : kawan-kawan, kalo esok aku tak update, bererti aku dah di goreng. i luv u all...

anjing : aku tension bila ada mat rempit berkumpul tepi rumah aku tiap malam. nak tido pun x senang.

kuda : patah kaki; rider aku bangang salah timing bila nak lompat pagar, sekarang rehat kat kandang.

kura-kura : aku sakit hati bila bini aku berjalan. lembab mcm siput babi

siput babi : aku sakit hati bila bini aku bergerak. lembab mcm kura2


buaya : hari ni aku lunch kaki manusia. kawan-kawan lunch apa hari ni?

burung kakak tua : penat betul nk ubah stigma masyarakat. walaupun aku Burung Kakak Tua, tapi aku burung jantan!!

babi hutan : susah betul nak cari makanan halal sekarang ni.

kera : semalam GF aku bagi bunga. sedap jugak kunyah.

tikus : aku makan mee goreng mamak kat al naz maju @ precint 9. meh la join sekali.

sotong : aku bengang bila tapak sulaiman ejek aku si lembut.

ikan laga : boring sey, duduk sorang-sorang dalam tangki ni.

ikan parang : kurang asam punya manusia, letak gambar aku kat depan plastik keropok.

ikan jerung : kenapa x de sorang pun nak add/approve aku. :-(

ikan bilis : wah ramainya kawan kita. tahniah remy, ko kawan aku yang ke 5000.

saw this first on my youngest sister azot's facebook wall. formspring? what's that?

i guess it's gonna be a new craze soon - like facebook and twitter - a simple site where people (with or without formspring accounts) can post questions - any questions - for you to answer. your friends with formspring accounts can also 'follow' you and able to read your responds.

don't worry - you will receive all questions posted through your formspring inbox, and the answer is published to all ONLY when you respond to it. if you think the questions are too personal or inappropriate, just choose to delete it.

what is twitter?

unlike facebook with all the status updates, wall messagings, photo comments, applications, poke or hug people and sending nasi lemak or choc fudge - when you twitter, you 'communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question' -

"what are you doing?"



unlike in facebook where people we 'add' becomes our 'facebook friends', in twitter, we 'follow' one another. ok, this is in no way a cult or an underground movement. clear on that? by 'following' simply means we wanna follow the latest happenings on someone's life. so on one upper side column there are :

'following' - people whose updates i wanna know
'followers' - people who wanna know my updates
and 'updates' - well, goes without saying, this is exactly like the status updates on facebook

i heard about this 'twitter' thingy before but had no clue what it was. so when i first started 'twittering' after an invitation by put the lawyer, i was like, "this is IT? status update je? baik guna facebook, status updates and more! and if you wanna quick exchange, chat kat ym je lah!"

but hey, it's fun to have another feather in the networking cap.

it seemed twitter is more suitable for those on the go, with wifi luxury at the palm of their hands even as they drive or in the toilet! (honey you should get in on this twitter thing with your omnia!) they can just twitter thru their handphones with a quick status update!

Facebook Graffiti

do you facebook?

syida stumbled upon a new facebook application - 'graffiti' and now i am very addicted to it coz i love to draw. and i love to color. i can't do a whole shebang of acrylic art or spin a piccaso but i just enjoy doing simple drawings. did i ever mention that?

the wow factor of this application is once you're done, you could click 'replay' and...watch magic happens. moving lines and dancing colours...

syida calls it my 'silly graffiti madness'. i call it arty farty passion. ha ha. potayto potahto. see what i drew for her here. i got carried away and drew a ben10 for yong's boys and a princess for syima's cuya. for azi, i drew a 'paul frank' that looks more like a creepy mickey mouse.

i want to draw more!

if you go to the main page for this graffiti application, you can see tons of masterpieces made by other facebook peeps - and they're seriously talented. i was turning sick sick sick with envy. it almost drove me mad tryin to figure out how they did those unbelievable drawings!
